I am still learning the ins and outs of motherhood, although I am not as tired as I used to be! Welcome to my take on life as a working mother of a five year old.
So I decided to do another blog post. After all, I have a lot of time to make up for. Plus, we have only one more day of Spring Break before the last weekend of Spring Break starts, so there you have it.
We flew a kite the other day. Mike and I had ore fun than AJ did. Being 4 and all, he did not have the finesse one needs to fly it. But it was a Pirate Kite and it was pretty cool. It was cool enough for me to capitalize it there, did you see that?
This morning we took AJ to the Doc to see about his frequently bloody nose. He has had one bloody nose about every day, sometimes more than once a day. I figured it is caused by allergies and that was confirmed by the Doc. He will now take a pill a day, squirt saline up there, and use his vaporizer at night every night. After the Doc, we went to Red Robin because...it was there and it's good.
There is an old plastic rabbit in the Easter decorations around the house. He and AJ shared a ridiculously artificial looking chocolate donut after nap this afternoon.
Back in February, AJ was having a bad behavior time. I had no context, and therefore no ability to deal with this, as he has been pretty much an angel since the day he was born. (Lucky me.) So my lovely and talented cousin who is lucky to be a mom, too, had some interesting tips and things to share. She gave me books... AJ likes these a lot.
She also shared a ton of Thomas tracks and trains with us. I have been blessed with generous friends who have children who loved trains, too. So armed with these new "treasures" we made the TREASURE CHEST! Ta Da.
After 5 successful days of no lying, hitting, being mean, or time outs, AJ gets a trip in there to pick out a new fun treasure.
The great part is that his older trains have new ways to play and his Chuggers from his Chuggington set can join in the fun, too. He loves to pull out the sets he hasn't played with in while and make new "towns".
For a while, the weather was doing some crazy things. It was warm enough on my birthday to eat out on a patio. Wow. We had some fun doing summer things in the middle of March.
