Wiggled

Ok, I have had my fun...and got a hit or 2 on my tracker....Steph dancing to the Chicken Wiggle song while drinking a wine cooler has been removed. (You can still see it on my YouTube Channel, but I will make you hunt for that.)

AJ and I were hanging out at the house yesterday and he dug out his little sun hat. I put it on him and he looked like an old fisherman, or the old guy from Ocean's Eleven.

Just a year ago Mike and I took AJ for his frist trip to the zoo and he wore that hat. It fit a little better then. Somehow that hat shrunk while it was in the box in the closet...

Lake Geneva, WI

Having fun in the sun.

Sun Splash Sand

Gram Betty and I took AJ to Lake Geneva, WI yesterday for a day at the beach. I had nno expectations, and in fact, thought probably we would leave within a few minutes of feeding the meter-

But we had a fabulous time and AJ LOVED the beach and everything there. He played in the sand, dug holes, filled them with water, pointed at things, danced, flirted with some grandmothers at the next blanket over his Yoda sunglasses, ate cucumbers and dip, went under the water, went under again, found a snail, watched boats, made splashes, wore his green seive on his head but would not wear his hat for more than 5 minutes, ate sand, and threw only a small fit when it was time to go home.

12 on the 12th

I am amazed at the talent that women I know possess. The Invisifriends have been doing this "Take 12 pics on the 12th of the month" for a long time. I tried, but alas, did not continue. I have seen some spectacular layouts and wanted to try to do it myself. I downloaded the free Picasa 3 photo thingy and tried it out.

I learned 4 valuable things:
1. It is hard to remember to take pics of everyday, somewhat mundane things. In the context of your day, these mundane things can really tell a story.

2. You miss opportunities no matter how hard you try to "capture it all". AJ had a meltdown on Rachel's classroom floor. If I hadn't been so irritated, it would have made a really cute picture. Sort of.

3. I am a very poor photographer. Hopefully with a little practice, I will get better.

4. If you only take 12 pics on the 12th of each month, you have a great photo documentation of your family throughout an entire year.

I bet I could develop this into a cool student/teacher/parent project. I am so on it. (Click the pic to see it in a larger frame)

(Starting @ top row 1)

1. AJ was up too early! 2. A little lunch on his nose. 3. This salsa made the chips dance in my mouth. 4. We went to Washington School to drop off some stuff. 5. The terrible state of my unpacked classroom. 6. A plane landing at O'Hare APT on the way home. 7. Then we stopped at Target. 8. Did I mention there is a Starbuck's @ Target? 9. NAPTIME ( I don't recommend the book, BTW) 10. Dinner fixins 11. AJ was crazy after his bath. 12. Dad's night for the bedtime routine.

Sticky Purple Mess

AJ enjoyed a Popsicle on the deck with me this evening before his bath. He had more fun playing with it than eating it. Summer fun will be ending soon, so we have to get it on when we can!
