Raspberries

I found this little gem in my Photobooth files. We were just goofin' around.

Pass the Kleenex...

The mom at the end saying, "That's my baby!" is what got me. Geez.

"Cone. Chalk-it Cone"

The fam ate ice cream cones for dessert tonight. After watching this, you might want one, too.

Jayne's Great Find

My friend Jayne is a fantastic finder of bargains. She stalks yard sales and resale shops and is on the hunt for anything anyone may ever need. Her mother is a hunter, too. Jayne recently called me while on the prowl and reported that she had located an item that AJ really enjoyed playing with while at their place. It was missing its pieces and needed a thorough scrubbing, but it was a great price. I ordered the replacement set and after that thorough scrubbing, presented the "new" toy to AJ.

"Welcome to Saturday!"

AJ, Mike and I visited the Rando-Phipps today over by the zoo. We shared a nice eggy breakfast and let AJ explore the house and experience all the new baby proofing they did. It's hard to know what to baby proof without an actual baby to test out your outlet covers, cord keeping, and bathroom cabinets. So that is where AJ came in.

AJ acted as chief tester while Baby G Risolvo just hung out on the carpet or nursed. We talked life changes, parenting decisions, upheaval, joys, and concerns. All the while, AJ attempted to straighten pictures and help D with her knitting.

I was struck by how ready we all are for Diane and Noah to become parents. Of course this journey has consumed them and no one is more ready to welcome a little one than they are...but all of us "observers" who love them can't wait to witness the coolness that a babe will add to Little Brick E! They are already the coolest parents on the block. And the day that a baby makes his/her appearance in their lives will truly be a remarkable and special chapter in their life story. The one you read with the Kleenex close at hand.

Kids Say the Funniest Things...

AJ has really been using words and started to talk much more in the last few weeks/months. He hasn't said much-he knows a lot and can identify lots of things, but isn't much of a talker, so this is big. Here's a list of his current favorite things and funny words or statements. Including his longest sentence EVER- "Daddy doesn't take a bath. Daddy takes a shower."

"Mama, no clothes. Jams all day."
"Where's that monkey?"
"No! CHOCIT milk!"

My favorite interaction was the other day while he was running around the house. Me: "Slow down!" AJ: "Adagio!"

AJ's Faves:
juice (he doesn't know it is really apple favored water after I mix it up!)
Mac and cheese
pears
chocolate milk
pizza
french fries
apple sauce
watching planes fly over us on the way home from Ms. Melba's
Jeopardy, with Wheel of Fortune being a close second
Little Einsteins or "Stein-ines"
Mickey
Blankie
Choo choos
salty snacks
being tickled
his UGGS
Dad and the shredder in the office
bath time
Fergie (I know, right?)
Golf
He knows all letters, numbers to 10, shapes, and sea creatures. He knows other animals, too, but can't really pronounce them. My favorite is elephant which he calls a "phantant".

When he is old and I look back at this list, I hope remember how much he has made me laugh this year!
