TRAINS!

We went to the IL Railway Museum in Union today. AJ has been OBSESSED with trains, so we were sure it would be a bigger hit than last year. It was. He had a blast. I got plenty of video, but not many still photos. All the cameras are broken, so I had to use my phone.
Since it is Memorial Day weekend, the train people had a camp set up and reenactments of WWII going on all day. We saw an air raid, a skirmish between Allied and Axis troops, and many soldiers marching all morning. You know, they get really into the characters. Sort of like those people at Medieval Faires. Anyway, we rode an Interurban train from 1907 and the Nebraska Zephyr circa 1937.

It was very hot. Excuse my hair.
Last year, the minute the train started moving, AJ fell asleep. Here we are in Sept 2009.
This vid shows AJ today and how much he enjoyed his first ever train ride.
We sat under a tree and watched the streetcars run every few minutes.

When it was time to leave, he had a tantrum. Such is life.

Conserve Water- Bathe With Hannah

We had a playdate with the Coles last week. We got to their house before they did, so we broke in. I am totally kidding. We watched for them out the window.
When Rachel and Hannah pulled in the drive, AJ got a little nervous.
They played in the pool in the backyard, ate watermelon, chased each other, played catch, and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then they took a bath together. We dyed the water blue with one of those fizzy tabs.

AJ slept like a rock.

Time For Training

I found AJ behind the recliner reading a book. He goes back there when he needs "a moment" to do his "thing". I thought it might be time to start training, but he wants nothing to do with it. We will see how long it takes to get him interested. Enjoy the video and its narration. Ha Ha!

I am so behind...

Forgive me blog readers. I'm on it.

Nature Boy

We went on a nature walk over at the Volkening Farm. This goose almost bit him, but AJ was bugging him and sort of deserved the hiss!
He was a little nervous around the horses. But Duke and Prince like kids, or so I'm told.
Investigations into the woods...
lead us to discover lots of pretty flowers, bugs, birds, "skerkles" running up trees,
And water. He told us the water was hiding under the bridge.
When we got back to car, he was dirty, hungry and tired. Just as I had planned it!

OFGS Week 3

So things are going pretty well on the fat girl front. I am happy to report that I have lost my first 10 pounds and bought myself a new pair of shoes. I wore them today and they only minimally impact my bunion. Pictures to follow.
